- ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) and NGN (New Generation Network) networks provide universal and common transfer infrastructure for all types of information (data, voice, video) for wide range of users without putting limits on distance and on type and output of transfer media (64 kbps up to 10 Gbps).
- ATM technology created a basis for IP MPLS solutions.
- In connection with better accessibility to more effective, mostly optical media the ATM technologies have been currently replaced by so called NGN (New Generation Network) solutions which are based on cheaper and more efficient Ethernet and SDH technologies
- In both cases there is a highly reliable multi-points transfer environment objective of which is to achieve max. accessibility and safety of data transfer with max. utilization of transfer capacities of transfer media used.
